Recently things have been great! School is going well, and I decided to try to discover and achieve my dreams. What are they? Haha, that is the real question, to those who are out there wondering the same thing.. Well you already know what your dream is. All you have to do is discover, embrace and have the courage to go out and get it. Our dreams are the answers for the questions yet to come. As Walt Disney said:
"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. -Walt Disney"
How true this statement is! So what is holding us back from having the courage to pursue our dreams? The fear of something new and changing will come? The fear that others will look down on us with scorn and ridicule? The fear that we will not achieve it?
Fear, such a simple word but so great is the meaning thereof. Is it to be afraid of something that could cause harm, danger or even the belief of change. Does and will this stop you from reaching your dreams? I hope not, because the only thing to fear is fear itself. So having the fear of something new and changing will come happens all the time, but if we find the courage and confidence in ourselves to move past it we can achieve great things.
Change is exciting and new, we should embrace it not turn away from it hiding and hoping it will never come. Well it will and does, so we should accept it. If others look down on your dream and ridicule you for it,- friends should be others who want to help you achieve your dreams and be uplifting to you, not pulling or pushing you down- so think hard about those doing that to you...they could be jealous that you have something that you want to go out and do with your life, instead of being in the same state of mind. This is always scary and something that we could fear, but why should we let it bring us down? We choose to let what others say bring us down, and we choose what we do and we should be proud of it!
The fear of not achieving.... this is always the inevitable. But if we fail we fail, not because we did not try hard enough but because we had a greater lesson to learn. Failing gives us the chance to start again and learn from our mistakes. It gives us the chance to be humble and to learn that tomorrow is a new day. If you are focused on the fact: that if I try to go out and achieve my dream I will fail...STOP!!! Instead you should be thinking or saying to yourself what Walt Disney said...we just need the courage, and if I might add the right attitude. BE POSITIVE! Because then anything is also possible. Go out and achieve your dreams with this attitude and you will achieve. Sure things might be rough and tough along the road...but endure to the end. Because it is worth it. Dreams, they are not easy to pursue but they are rewarding at the end, and as we look back we will realize the journey that got us to them and be ever more thankful we picked up the courage to take the first step to achieving them.
"Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all."-Princess Diaries.
This is one of my favorite quotations about courage....just keep this in mind as you go through your day. And remember that you already know what your dreams are...they are the deepest desires of your heart. Just look at what is in your heart and follow it...and have the courage to pursue them.
My dreams have been hard to find and I am still searching for them...One of my silliest dreams is to open up a cake shop. I know this is far fetched but I know if I put my mind and heart into it I could achieve it. Another one is to be in a dance competition for my school BYU-I..I do not know if I will be good enough to ever accomplish this, but I will work up to it. By taking the classes I need to become great. I have many dreams that I know of and others that I am still discovering...this is a lifetime process and will continue.

So..your probably wondering a little bit about myself. I am in college at Brigham Young University Idaho commonly referred to as BYU-I. I am single and loving life as it is, as for my major it is undecided and I am seeking out what I want to do. As to how I got here? Well I graduated High School from Marysville Getchell HS, Washington in June 2011. Near the end of school I searched for my first job, Staples. I learned and loved a lot there, and gained experiences needed for life. As to different adventures that happened, well those will come at a different time. ;)
Having gotten my AA in English the summer after HS, I sought out BYU-I, to become and English Teacher (at the time). After having been accepted in February, I prepared to come here for my First Semester. And that is the reader's digest version on how I got here to college.
How is it going? Well it is Splendid!! I am loving every moment of it...especially being able to open my eyes to new things and seeing the world in a different light. My classes are the following:
Nutrition
Young Adult Literature
Book of Mormon
Intro to Eng Studies
Beauty and Creativity-Humanities
Reading Asst & Textbook Comp (learning how to study efficiently I believe...second block starts next week)
All are going well and I am learning so much already- and its only the 6th week of classes! As to my favorite class, I really could not say because I can not decide between them. As of right now it is Beauty and Creativity. As far as why, I will have to post tomorrow about it...Good night to those out there.
-A piece of life through my eyes-
Your Writer
Someone once told me:
"If you look close enough to the worl around you, you might just find someone like you. Someone trying to find their way. Someone trying to find their self. Sometimes it seems like you are the only one in the world who's struggling, who's frusterated, unsatisfied, barely getting by. But that feeling is a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all another day, someone or something wil find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes. We need someone to remind us that is won't always be this way. That someone is out there. And that someone will find you:)"
Who am I? A common question one generally asks themselves one point or another while growing up. The point of life is not to find yourself but rather create yourself. If you were to ask your mom or dad on who they think they are, they know and will have a sure answer. Part of creating yourself is doing what you love the most, because what is life without love? Nothing, you have to learn to love and to love yourself in order to create yourself and to discover what you love to do.
We all struggle with this and the learning process thereof, yet overcoming this and taking life on will bring us to where we need to be and where we will be going. So to challenge each of you and everyone, write a poem of who you are and what defines you. As you do so you will find that you already have created yourself, yet you did not realize it yet.
